David was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was raised in Pocatello. He graduated from Idaho State University and immediately enrolled in law school at the University of Idaho College of Law in Moscow, Idaho. After graduation from law school, David completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable William H. Woodland in Pocatello. He also worked for Idaho State University as an adjunct professor teaching math. David maintains a broad-based practice representing clients in the areas of accident and personal injury claims, construction law, creditors’ rights, police misconduct and civil rights claims, criminal defense, family law and general litigation. He is a member of the Idaho State Bar, the Sixth District Bar, the Portneuf Inns of Court, the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Penrod has successfully and aggressively represented thousands of satisfied clients throughout his career. In addition to presenting each case in a skillful, professional and effective manner, Mr. Penrod never loses sight of his ultimate role as problem-solver. Some cases can only be resolved in the courtroom, but the majority of cases can and should be resolved outside of the courthouse. Mr. Penrod skillfully approaches each case looking for a cost effective resolution that satisfies the specific expectations of the client.Mr. Penrod has been a resident of Pocatello, Idaho, for the majority of his life. He takes great pride in his community and has made it his duty to serve beyond his role as a practicing attorney.
In addition, David continues to work in the community as a CASA volunteer. He and his wife are the proud parents of four children. In his spare time, David can be found with his family, on the golf course or reading a book on early American history.
Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his wife Stephanie and his four children. He has a strong appreciation for early American History and loves to travel. He also enjoys many recreational activities, including golf and cycling.
